Refund Policy

Effective: May 15, 2026 · Last updated: May 15, 2026

14-Day Money-Back Guarantee

If InkMate isn't a fit, ask for a refund within 14 days of your first paid subscription charge and we'll send the money back — no interrogation, no win-back script.

1. What this policy covers

This page covers refunds for the InkMate subscription — the fee your studio pays us. It does not cover client deposits a studio collects at booking. Those flow through Stripe Connect directly to the studio's Stripe account; see section 3 below.

2. InkMate subscription refunds

2.1 Eligibility

  • Request a refund within 14 days of your first paid charge
  • First refund per account — repeat refunds aren't covered
  • Account is in good standing (not terminated for an AUP or Terms violation)

2.2 How to request one

  1. Email support@inkmate.app from the address on file
  2. Subject line: “Refund Request”
  3. Optional: a sentence on what didn't work — it helps us, but it's not required

We'll process the refund within 5–7 business days back to the original payment method. Stripe's usual bank settlement window (5–10 business days) applies on top of that for when it actually shows on your statement.

2.3 What happens after

  • Subscription is cancelled immediately
  • Your account stays accessible for 30 days so you can export data
  • After 30 days the account is purged (subject to the retention exceptions in the Privacy Policy)

Important: client deposits

InkMate does not refund client deposits. Deposits collected at booking are processed by Stripe via Connect and settle directly in the studio's Stripe account. Each studio sets its own deposit and refund policy and handles refunds from its Stripe dashboard. If you're a client looking for a deposit refund, contact the studio directly.

3. Client deposits (for studios)

When you collect a deposit through InkMate, it goes straight to your connected Stripe account. InkMate never holds, routes, or controls those funds. That means:

  • Your policy: you publish your own deposit and cancellation terms to your clients
  • Your refunds: issue them from your Stripe dashboard
  • Your disputes: chargebacks and refund disputes are between you, your client, and Stripe
  • Your fees: Stripe's standard processing fees apply

We strongly recommend stating your deposit policy on your public booking page and in your consent form.

4. Renewals and cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew automatically
  • Cancel anytime from the dashboard or by emailing support
  • After cancellation you keep access until the end of the paid period
  • We don't pro-rate refunds for mid-cycle cancellations — you paid for the period, you get the period

5. Exceptions

Refunds are not granted for:

  • Requests made more than 14 days after the first paid charge
  • Second or subsequent requests on the same account
  • Accounts terminated for AUP or Terms violations
  • Mid-cycle partial refunds

6. Free trial

The trial is free for 14 days. No card required up front. If you don't subscribe by day 15, the account drops to a limited free tier — you don't get charged.

7. Chargebacks

Talk to us first. We answer fast and we'd rather make it right than fight a chargeback. Filing one without contacting us results in fees for us and may result in account suspension.

8. Payment processor

All payments are processed by Stripe. Refund timing is subject to Stripe's processing windows; expect 5–10 business days for funds to clear back to your statement.

9. Contact
